History: “Sometimes, it isn’t what we have done that haunts us the most; sometimes, it is what we failed to do.” Before humanity set into the heavens, their land was separated by land obstacles and barriers. As a result, the lose of a single race disappearing was not something that went by noticed. Mesoamerica was the first place that an ancient race, known as the Shaa came to region. It took several hundred people, whom were experimented on to become the Pre-asylan breed of humans. With the Pre-asylan, the Shaa managed to control the Mesoamerican area and thus freely take from them peoples of conquered nations. Eventually the Shaa took others from other regions of the world before leaving Terra to set up a "Shield World", as was the hope of the Shaa. However, one on the world of Ixion, terraformed to exist as earth did, the Shaa established a military regime called the Dominion.
Within a thousand years of this relocation, the Shaa elected to destroy the Asylan breed. They had become too powerful in potential do to the higher evolved nature of there created race. The Dominion attempted to kill the Asylan in the manner called "The Purge". However, as this occurred another faction came to be known as the Mertus Empire. In hopes to free themselves from the Shaa's control, the Empire launched a War to free their people as the Asylans fled to a safe haven called Helimus. This war became known as the Yavan War, The Endless War, The Thousand years War.
Born in the ending years of the war, Rakashi was born to the Asylan leader named Shin Yamoki. He created the Delta-Heta Project, the creation of enhancement for Asylans. However, the populous of 'Turatian' occurred when it came to light that the process was experimented on Turatian's and the Purge occurred all over Ixion. At the age of 10, Rakashi was given a rifle and instructed in how to kill.
Six years of running passed and slowly the Asylan resistance dwindled till only Rakashi and a group of her followers were alive. Eventually, all but her perished as the 'Seers' released a new monster called Penitence, a synthetic hunter.
Six months passed and Rakashi was used as the instrument to kill the remaining Asylan, claiming that in order to punish her, she would have to end the monstrosity of her kind. She did and was branded a 'Demon of Death' whom was then marked so that all would know. She was released and hunted by the Trackers as final act of cruelty so that every moment she lived she could do it with the memory of what had happened.
As she fled, she stumbled upon a kill field that held the corpses of the Asylan slaughtered in the Purge. Instead of continuing to run, she decided to die by allowing the birds-reptile creatures of her world to tear her apart as she fought them till death. However, That that wasn't the case as a group of warriors found her. Cerberus.
Cerberus saved her from her world, letting her live with the regret and lost of her entire species. They gave her a new name, a new way to fight, a new reason to exist, Raven took it and became an assassin for the XI Cell of Cerberus. As she killed, Cerberus's Illusive man became more curious, for XI wasn't allowed to recruit but could experiment on people. Thus they pulled Raven from the front, and sent her to Paradise, where they experimented on her alien-yet-human physiology. At the age of 17, she was experimented on and held as a prisoner for three years.
She managed to free herself and kill her captures agents around her and used their armor to sneak past the guards. She escaped by hiding under a MAKO vehicle inside of a Frigate that was heading to Earth. On Earth she began work an assassin for a local gang in order to get funding to the Illium Spaceport and escape to the Terminus Systems out of fear that if the Council learned of her existence, they would kill her fro being an assassin. Plus, if she simply disappeared, Cerberus wouldn't find her. She worked as an assassin for two years before Cerberus caught wind on her possibly being on Earth. She fled on board ships by hiding on-board in the cargo bay or Maintenance shafts, fleeing from ship to ship to avoid being caught by anyone. To anyone's knowledge, she is still fleeing. RP Sample:
Darkness again. Boots… loud, so very loud. Please, don’t take me to be caged again. The chains clanged and the sounds of yells could be heard echoing through hollow halls. Fear was everywhere and the stench of ammonia was everywhere. All I could do was count the steps as the bag over my head kept them from seeing my face, and me from seeing theirs. “Comeon, she’s barely a juvenile.” “So? She has no family, no links, no loose end; she’s a ghost, a phantom.” All I could do was wait till that bag was lifted. And then I would be tied down and given injections. I make them stop—
“—I wasn’t ‘human’—So that validated all the experiments they did on me. They would tie my down and I would scream for them to stop. They never did and they just kept poking those nettles in to me.” She tried to suck in anything that was coming down her face. Her eyes stared into the metal on her armor. “Eventually, I stop screaming. I stopped fighting. It got worse as they injected more and more of that shit into me. To them I was—“
“This isn’t right! She’s not some creature you can do this to.” “Why? She isn’t human. She’s just some being that was being hunted like an animal. They slaughtered everything like her. She is nothing but a remnant of a dead race.” “And that validates experimenting on her like she is an animal?” “And what makes what we do to animals valid? Is it cause they don’t look like us? Since she does, you instantly feel like we are harming humanity? Look at her. She isn’t a person! She is an animal like a dog, a rat, a guinea pig. You cry about a being who looks human, but not about the animals that are equivalent to her? Isn’t that much of a double standard.” “Please, let me out. Or at least let me out of these restraints. Please, please let me out.” “Goddammit, she is as human as we are!” “Really? God has nothing to do with this. She’s animal to test on and see if we can use the things used on her on actual humans.”
All I could do was let them experiment on me. In the dark, without care or sympathy, they would push nettles into me, injecting me with what was held within their devilish devices with their devilish concoctions. After so many violations that the put into me threw pointed tips, the care just drained out from me. Numbness ensued from the countless injections over my three years under Paradise’s care. It hurt each time, but it was all the same; just another scar, just another bit of haunting memories.
“—a creature, an animal. I was not even human, so it didn’t matter what they did to me. Who cares about non-humans, right? Screw the aliens, right? Well, they did… screwed me up pretty damn good.” The red eye woman was sixteen when they experimented on her, seventeen when they did it everyday, and they decided then she was an animal, not a being equal to humans. Her eyes were staring at her helmet as she held it as she looked at herself in the darkness of a maintenance shaft. “You don’t know—you can never know how it feels to be taken to some alien place, chained and covered with a bag just in case you decided to try and run. To be tied down so you could receive some burning, stinging, agonizing shot of some chemical that they wouldn’t give to a rat. Since I cost them nothing but food and water, they could do what ever they wanted, no made the—side-effects. Everyday I lived with that agony. Some days, I would merely develop a rash or something less severe… others I would nearly die. And to be honest, the later was preferable; it meant no more injections for a few days.”
Her eyes came up as a few soldiers stared at her, having found her amongst some boxes. They were confused as she held a pole near her. It came up as she had placed the helmet on and stood. Their guns came up and she shook her head. "It will take more then that to kill me..."
